The Steelers were able to run out the clock in the final minutes after getting a couple of first downs and took a 20-13 victory over the Falcons. 

Atlanta's offense simply couldn't sustain  drives and keep it close. 

Steelers star pass rusher T.J. Watt intercepted Cooper Rush's checkdown pass and, after stumbling onto the grass, picked himself up and rumbled to the end zone for a 35-yard touchdown.

The play gave the Steelers a 20-10 lead, but the Falcons responded with a 14-yard run from Brian Robinson Jr. and a 19-yard pass from Rush to receiver Jahan Dotson.

Kicker Nick Folk nailed a 43-yard field goal to draw the Falcons within one score at 20-13 with 10:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Nick Folk has had a tough debut with the Falcons, missing his first two field-goal attempts, but he turned things around with a 50-yard kick to bring the Falcons within 13-10 late in the third quarter. 

He was brought in because of his accuracy, but he's having a tough start to the season already. 

The Falcons are firmly in it, despite a barrage of penalties and offensive struggles.

Quarterback Cooper Rush is 9-for-14 passing for 79 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Falcons have rushed 11 times for 24 yards, and their longest gain on the ground is only seven yards.

Running back Bijan Robinson has seven catches for 66 yards, headlined by a 23-yard touchdown on a screen pass in the first quarter.

The Steelers have 10 first downs to the Falcons' five, and Pittsburgh is outgaining Atlanta, 145-94. Turnovers in minus territory led to touchdowns for both teams.

The Falcons will receive the kickoff to start the second half, a big opportunity to draw closer or take the lead — and most importantly, set the tone for the second half.

Falcons kicker Nick Folk pushed a 54-yard field goal wide right. He had the distance, but the NFL's most accurate kicker over the past three years — he's missed only one field goal each season since 2023 — misfired.

It's been good so far. There haven't been a ton of big plays, and the only Steelers touchdown came after the turnover and on a short field. Even then, they held Aaron Rodgers to a third-down attempt on that scoring pass. 

They've also held the Steelers' run game in check. 

Good effort, including a turnover on the fumble recovery, and holding Pittsburgh to the two field goals instead of touchdowns. 

Falcons quarterback Cooper Rush overthrew receiver Jahan Dotson, and his pass went into the waiting arms of safety Jaquan Brisker, who secured the interception and gave the Steelers the ball at the Falcons 31 yard line.

Four plays later, Aaron Rodgers hit tight end Pat Freiermuth in the back of the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown on 3rd-and-3, giving the Steelers the lead, 13-7.

Falcons defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand suffered a knee injury and will be out for the remainder of the game.

The Falcons' defense delivered a big red-zone stand, forcing the Steelers to settle for a 28-yard field goal from kicker Chris Boswell.

The Falcons have created a reasonable amount of pressure on Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
