Looking for something fun to do with your family this weekend in metro Atlanta? The Atlanta Fair returns to downtown, bringing all the rides, games and food you’ll need to make some memories. And the Atlanta Science Festival gets underway this weekend with activities such as an ice cream-based learning (and tasting) experience as well as a Fernbank Goes Wild event at Fernbank Science Center.

Atlanta Fair

The Atlanta Fair is back starting this weekend and brings rides, fair food and games and prizes for the young — and young at heart — to enjoy.

Georgia Aquarium 5K

Run, walk or jog your way through this ninth annual Peachtree Road Race qualifier that takes you past some of downtown Atlanta’s most iconic landmarks. It’s open to ages 8 and up and helps fund the Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation efforts.

A Scoop of Science

Learn about the science of ice cream in this Atlanta Science Festival event. Two physicists will answer questions you never knew to ask about the sweet treat and explore the physics of disordered solids. The ticket price includes ice cream following the event.

Family Saturday

Take the family to the High Museum of Art for arts programming for all ages, including tours and activities for toddlers as well as teens.

Touch-A-Truck Expo

Kids and adults can touch and explore trucks, heavy construction and public safety vehicles and meet their owners and operators. Kennesaw’s Parks & Recreation Department will also host an open house event so you can learn about available summer camps as well as job openings at the camps. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Atlanta Black College Expo

Meet with representatives from more than 50 historically Black colleges and universities, some of which are waiving application fees and/or granting on-the-spot acceptances. Seminars and prizes are also offered.

‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’

Irish Fest
